Fred Phelps, Westboro Baptist Church Leader Dies

The founder of Westboro Baptist Church died of natural causes on Wednesday, March 19th. The church is well known for their picketing of funerals of U.S. soldiers, concerts and natural disasters, holding signs with slogans such as “Thank God for Dead Soldiers” and “God Hates Fags.”

Most members of WBC are relatives of Fred Phelps, either through blood or by marriage. Phelps had a total of 13 children with 11 of them being attorneys.
