New Philadelphia Man Sentenced to Prison

Robert Freeman, 65 of Zella Avenue NW was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday, March 17th for the rape of a mentally disabled family member. The sentence was handed down in Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court by visiting Judge Tom Pokorny.

Pokorny denied a request by Freeman to be out of prison on April 5th in order to celebrate his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife. Freeman, who is now a tier three sex offender will have to register his address with authorities every 90 days after he is released from prison.
